Happy New Year! We are spending a quiet time here in Nusa Penida, just off of Bali. Quiet, beautiful rugged, and quiet.

The Wednesday market in Otavalo is a little less crowded than the Saturday market. So our time there was pretty relaxed. This part of Ecuador is filled with people wearing traditional indigenous clothing for both them men and women. I wish i could have just sat and captured the faces and clothing of many of the people walking by, but it was a bit challenging to ask to take their picture. Now I have lots of mental pictures , and a few real ones to show you.

Looking down the steep concrete hill transitioning to a rough unpredictable dirt track with bumps and jumps, i’m amazed at the courage these young kids have to move forward with such power!
